Bernedoodles come in many colors and patterns. To see the coordinating waitlist, visit this page!

The colors and patterns depend largely on the father for F1’s because the mom’s, being all Berners, all have the same color genes the coloring for F2’s and F1b’s depend on the coloring of both parents please see the “meet the moms” and “meet the dads” pages to see which colors and patterns each parent pairing usually produces!
Please see this page for more examples of what bernedoodles look like!
Here are the most common colors and patterns!
Traditional Tri-Colored Bernedoodles have the same pattern and coloring as a berner but with non-shedding hair! Here are some examples:
Traditional Tri’s (above) are seen mostly in F1 Standards, F2 Mini’s and some F1b mini’s. The fathers producing traditional tri colored bernedoodles regularly are Sargent Pepper, BB King and Ringo
Next, we have the Traditional Tri-Sable which is mostly brown with white berner markings and black or brown points. Parent dogs who regularly produce this pattern/color are Rocky (F2 Standards), Sargent Pepper (F1 Standards) and some F2 Mini moms like Roxie, Carly and Penny.
This Tri-Colored Sable coat color is seen mostly in our F1 Standards and F2 Mini’s!
Up next is the Merle Category! A fairly common misconception is that all Merle dogs/puppies aren’t healthy because of the Merle gene. This, of course, isn’t true. Otherwise Australian Shepherd’s wouldn’t be healthy when they traditionally live to 10+ years old! The most important aspect of breeding with the Merle gene involved is making sure only one parent is a Merle gene carrier. Double Merle’s (both parents have the merle gene) are where the health can become an issue. Puppies bred from parents that both carry the merle gene can be blind and/or deaf. This speaks to the importance of finding a great breeder who does genetic testing.
Traditional Blue Merle coat color! Beautiful! Jacob, Zeppelin and Jerry are the dads for these beauties! They consistently produce puppies with merle patterns in F1 mini’s, F2 Small Standards and Mini’s and F1b Mini’s and Micro’s. All are non-shedding.
Blue Merle (only when Jacob is the dad does this color come out) shown below. Seen in F1 and F1b Mini Bernedoodles, Micro bernedoodles litters sired by Jacob, Toy Tiny Bernedoodles sired by Jacob and F1 Micro Aussiedoodles from Ani/Jacob
Blue Merle with Brown Markings (Jacob, Zeppelin, or Jerry are the Dads) Seen in F1b and F2 Small Standards, Mini’s and Micro’s!
Red Merle (Jacob, Zeppelin, or Jerry are the Dads) shown below. Seen in F1 and F1b Mini Bernedoodles, Micro bernedoodles sired but Jacob, Toy/Tea Cup Bernedoodles sired by Jacob and F1 Micro Aussiedoodles from Ani/Jacob
White with Merle Markings: These beautiful and majestic puppies are stunning. White puppies stay surprisingly clean looking and when they aren’t clean, you’ll know! By comparison, mostly black or dark haired Bernedoodles will get just as dirty as a white Bernedoodle at times but it’s often ignored until the dirt is on your hand from petting them.
Here we have the Traditional Chocolate Tri-Colored Bernedoodle; This coloring is only seen when BB King or Ringo Starr is the dad. These are rare and only one or two with this unique coloring may be born in these litters
Chocolate Tri’s with traditional berner markings often have hazel eyes. BB King and Ringo father these beauties in their F2 Mini Bernedoodle litters and they’re rare.
The Phantom color refers to a bi-colored black and white or brown and white bernedoodle without the white berner markings. Also gorgeous! This color/pattern is seen in Tela and BB King’s F1b Mini Bernedoodles m and F2 Mini Bernedoodle litters where BB King is the dad. Mom’s who will may produce this color and pattern include Kylie’s micro’s and Abbey’s Mini’s. Both Tela’s daughters, they are just coming up on their 1st litters as Tela is retiring in 2022
Phantom primary Black with Brown markings seen a lot in F1b Mini’s and F2 Mini’s occasionally
One of my favorites! The Brindle Bernedoodle is stunning! This color and pattern combination is one of my all time favorites! We only see the brindle bernedoodle with Sargent Pepper’s F1 Standard Bernedoodles but hope to incorporate brindles into our mini program once Harley is old enough to have puppies in 2022. The dad will be BB King or Ringo Star.
Brindle seen in F1 Standards where Sargent Pepper is the dad
Here we have the Black and White, Brown and White or Red and White “Tuxedo” Bernedoodle: This pattern is seen in nearly every bernedoodle litter from every father including BB King, Jacob, Rocky Raccoon, Ringo Star and Hendrix.
“Parti” black/white (sometimes with brown eyebrows) are seen in F1b Mini’s, F2 Mini’s, F2 standards and micro Bernedoodle litters.
Finally, here we have the solid white, black or brown Bernedoodles! Seen mainly in our F1b Mini and micro Bernedoodle litters!
Patterns of Colors:
There are 3 main patterns Bernedoodles come in: Traditional, Parti and phantom
“Traditional Pattern” means they have the traditional berner pattern, regardless of the color. These are all Traditional patterned bernedoodles and come from Sargent Pepper, Rocky, BB King, Ringo Star and Jacob.
Next we have the “Parti” Pattern (below) and there are usually 2-3 Patti’s in Jacob’s Micro bernedoodles and Aussiedoodles, some of BB King’s mini bernedoodles and when the mom herself has a parti patterned coat
And our Mainly Solid Cream colored Beauties! (below) This color is sometimes seen in BB King’s F2 Bernedoodes and Rocky Raccoon’s F2 Standard litters. We will also see this in Dakota’s upcoming litters of F2 Bernedoodles arriving in 2022.
